Statuesque: nine names, 172 cm and upwards
Nine women here stand 172 cm or more, and the list runs up to 178. That is a third of the register, which is a larger share than most sites in this city could honestly claim, and every height is printed on the page it belongs to.
Height is the least interesting thing about all nine of them, but it is the thing guests ask for by name, usually for one of two reasons. Either the evening involves a room where presence does some of the work, or you are tall yourself and would rather not spend a night looking down.
The tallest of the nine
Violetta is 178 cm, tall and slender, sleek black hair, and she builds an evening around a concert with an early table before it. Stacy is 176 cm and slim, near-black brown hair, calmer than she looks and clear headed at midnight. Milena is 175 cm and curvy, black hair to the middle of her back, and she makes a hotel lobby pause for a second without ever appearing to notice.
The 174s
Karolina is 174 cm and slim, and she is the reason the old dining rooms still keep their good tables. Samanta is also 174 and slim, dark brown haired, and completely unbothered by a room full of people who all know each other. Both are late twenties and both prefer a late sitting to an early one.
The 172s and 173s
Angelika is 172 cm and athletic, black hair kept straight, and she arrives early on purpose. Patricia is 172 cm and slim, auburn brown, and refuses to be hurried by anything. Michelle is 173 cm and curvy, dark hair worn straight, and she is the easiest woman on this site to introduce to strangers. Vanessa is 173 cm and slim, sandy balayage, and keeps an evening uncomplicated.
Where a tall list is most used
The City of London, Canary Wharf and the older West End dining rooms account for most of these bookings, which tells you what they are usually for. All nine travel anywhere inside the published districts with the journey already counted in the figure.
When height is actually useful
In a grand dining room, where a maitre d' makes a decision about a table in the three seconds it takes two people to cross a threshold. At a long work dinner, where somebody has to hold a conversation across the width of it. And on an evening where you are tall yourself and have spent enough nights leaning down to hear somebody.
Everywhere else it is simply a fact, like eye colour, and it should not be the thing that decides your evening. Several of these nine are among the quietest company on the site, and their height has nothing whatever to do with why guests book them a second time.
